Chatswood School

Chatswood high School upgrade is Stage 4 of Chatswood High Masterplan.  The scope was originally a new 3 storey building sited close to the oval to replace existing demountable, but the decision was made early on to accommodate the program on two levels, each connected to the ground; taking advantage of the topography of the site. The new facility includes 27 learning spaces, seminar rooms, storerooms, toilets, staff study and lift.

The learning spaces are grouped in clusters of 3, 4 or 5 classrooms. Acoustic rated operable walls separate them and can be fully open to allow maximum flexibility of usage. All these spaces are cross ventilated. They are organised around an oval shaped courtyard. This courtyard caters for assemblies and outdoor learning as well as well as playground. On the other side, the classrooms face the wood and the sports filed.
